Our Mission: Faith, Freedom, and Prosperity
As a conservative leader, I am committed to restoring local government to its rightful purpose—serving the people with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and a firm commitment to Biblical values.
I believe in self-sufficiency, economic opportunity, and the protection of individual liberties, all while ensuring that our communities remain places where families and businesses can thrive.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Brevard deserves leadership that listens, unites, and acts. With deep roots in our community and decades of service in both construction and the National Guard, I’m stepping up to serve as your next mayor — but I can’t do it alone.
Running a grassroots campaign takes resources. Your donation — whether $10 or $100 — helps us reach voters, share our vision, and bring fresh energy to Brevard’s future. Every dollar goes toward building a city that values transparency, opportunity, and hometown pride.
If you believe it's time to Bring Back Brevard, please consider contributing today.
Thank you for your support — let’s build something great, together.
With gratitude,
Chris Wiener
Candidate for Mayor of Brevard, NC
Your support and contributions will enable us to Bring Back Brevard.
In Brevard, North Carolina, the mayor's role is primarily ceremonial and administrative, with limited executive authority. Brevard operates under a council-manager form of government, which means the city manager handles most day-to-day administrative duties. Here’s a breakdown of the mayor’s key responsibilities:
In essence, the mayor of Brevard is a lead ambassador and meeting facilitator, while the City Council holds legislative power and the City Manager oversees administration.
Please reach us if you cannot find an answer to your question. As questions come in, I will be updating the FAQ below.
The City of Brevard Police Department is now operating with only two patrol officers per shift, and the strain is so great that outsourcing the night shift to the Sheriff’s Office is being seriously considered. That should concern every resident who values local control, officer safety, and a responsive police presence.
Having served seven years in the U.S. Army and led in the business world for over two decades, I can tell you from experience: when teams fall apart, it’s rarely just about pay. It’s always about leadership.
We need to ask ourselves hard questions: Are we creating a culture where our officers feel respected, supported, and proud to serve? Do they know we have their backs? Have we listened to their concerns—not just about salary, but about staffing, support, safety, and scheduling?
Effective leadership requires two things: understanding people’s pain points and setting reasonable expectations. Our police officers are not just employees—they are guardians of our community. We owe them a clear vision, consistent support, and leadership that earns their trust.
If we want to rebuild and retain a strong department, we must move beyond short-term fixes. Outsourcing the night shift might patch the hole for now, but it won’t solve the leadership deficit that’s driving the attrition. It’s time to lead from the front—just like we expect our officers to do every day.
As mayor, I will prioritize the safety, health, and moral clarity of our community—especially for our children and young adults. Over the past several years, gas stations and smoke shops in Brevard have begun selling unregulated substances like kratom, Delta-8 THC, synthetic cannabinoids, tianeptine, and other lab-made drugs under the guise of “wellness supplements” or “herbal relief.”
These substances are widely available, frequently untested, and often addictive. Many are marketed to minors and sold just steps from schools and parks.
While the federal and state governments are still debating how to handle these products, we don’t have to wait. Under the authority granted to us by the North Carolina General Statutes, we have both the legal right and the moral obligation to act.
As your next mayor, I will champion an ordinance that:
This is not about criminalizing personal behavior. It’s about saying that Brevard will not be a dumping ground for addictive, untested products. We will lead with integrity and protect our community. And we will give businesses time to transition, with fairness and clear guidance.
Brevard can be a model city—one that stands up for its values and puts the health of its families first.
As the campaign advances, I will be leaving literature and other information at the Transylvania County GOP Headquarters.
